Do you ever wonder what clients receive at The Lords Food Pantry each Saturday morning?
Volunteers pack food bags during the week prior to Saturday’s distribution. A variety of shelf-stable food is packed for a 3-day supply, to provide nourishment for the weekend when other food pantries are typically closed. The amount of food packed is based on family size.
In addition to these food bags, clients receive frozen meat and eggs (usually purchased), fresh produce (usually donated from the food bank in Wilmington), and breads/pastries (in part donated by local businesses). Clients may also receive toiletries up request and depending on availability.
