Here is a small glimpse into what happens every Saturday morning at The Lord's Food Pantry. The process actually starts during the week immediately preceding distribution. A group of volunteers from an SBIC member church gathers at the pantry to assemble the bags of food to be distributed. A portion of this food comes from Porch donations collected in various churches and communities. In January, the Pantry collected 5,845 pounds of food.

With the food collected, the most important part begins on Saturday. It is extremely busy as our amazing volunteers swiftly arrange bags filled with food packed a few days before. Cars line up in the parking lots and streets, filled with our neighbors who are in need of assistance. Each car gets a number and is called in turn to receive their groceries. It's an exhilarating and organized chaos!

In the month of January, The Lord's Food Pantry served 632 families consisting of 2,221 individuals. Included in that count are 667 children, 1,041 adults and 513 senior citizens.
