How PORCH Works: 

PORCH is built around the very simple idea of a neighborhood food drive. Here’s how it works, in three easy steps:

• Once a month, during the second week, a volunteer neighborhood coordinators place a food donation box on their front porch.
• The volunteer neighborhood coordinator weighs and sorts the collected food and takes it to a central sorting location. In the Supply/Shallotte/Calabash area, this sorting occurs at The Lords Food Pantry's location.
• The donated food is transported by car to a local food pantry or picked up by a receiving organization. 

The three-step process is easy, fast, and it’s also safe.
